ABS CBN and GMA 7 Channel War

Stop It! Stop It! Stop It! I hate hearing anything related to this two TV station fighting over who is on top of the rating. I am developing an allergic reaction to any words, any commercials, any news on TV or radio related to the fight.

I seldom watch the television but if I watch it I choose Channel 2, so I am a Kapamilya. I only watch Coffee Prince on GMA after that I turn it off. I am better off watching CSI, Prison Break, Pushing Daisies, Monk, House and others. I even rarely watch the news or read the newspaper.

According to Dr. Amelita de Guzman, our professor in Socio class, these people or establishment who promotes customer service are only after one thing. PROFIT! If they really care about their client, about their viewers you can see it in their programs. Even if they are the least in the rank if they really care then they are worth every hour or minute that we watch them.

So what is connection if the Lopez group owns Skycable? Is there a relationship to their claim? That Channel 7 has a bad reception in a cable TV? I am not so sure because we have a cable and it's not Sky and the reception for Channel 7 is also bad.

I may be bias because I used to work for the Lopez group, maybe I am saying this out of loyalty but I know that I am keeping an open mind. I just don't accept any claim, any accusation without a real basis. That is how a scientist and a rational person thinks. I am a rational person, I am a scientific person. If the rating of GMA is really tampered, then it is tampered, if after all the tampering and still GMA is no 1, so be it. I'll still continue watching ABS CBN shows.

So If you asked around, majority may seem to be watching GMA shows, but the count in a barangay is not enough to generalize it to all. Maybe those watching ABS CBN program are too rich or too unapproachable to install an AGB Nielsen cable monitor so they are already out of the list.

If you randomly select a barangay, random means anyone has every chance of being included and if you randomly pick a rich household, are you going to insist that you install an AGB monitor? They would not do that, they care too much about their privacy, they do not want anyone monitoring what they watch.

I have this theory that those who watch shows on ABS CBN are more refined, more professional, more calm than those watching GMA 7 shows. In short, people watching GMA shows are (sorry for the word), "jologs" some people do not want to be called this name. I may be generalizing, that is a fault. Sorry if you are a Kapuso.
The shows are really not appealing to me. Oh maybe, I also watch Jessica Soho but not regularly.

THis is just a theory ok, no hard feelings.

Great! I watched a really excellent DVD this afternoon. “The Promise” starring Angel Locsin and Richard Gutierrez. That was a joke, it was not excellent. I’ll rate it a 5 for a perfect score of ten.

The story started when they adopted Daniel (Richard) he was found at the back of the service truck of Andrea’s (Angel), parents who were farmers. The haciendero’s family also has kids, Anton (TJ) and Monique (Rhian) who will turn out to be their partners, exchange partners. Andrea has a brother, Ryan Eigenmann nung lumaki. So they adopted Daniel but older brother is jealous. Kaya nagagalit si batang Ryan, he threathen to leave if Daniel does not leave. So what happens next? Umalis is Ryan, naglayas, naiwan si Daniel and Andrea. After some scene lumaki na sila. Namatay parents nila from an accident. Ryan returned. Anton and Monique also returned from America, Anton falls for Andrea, Monique falls for Daniel. Anton marries Andrea, nagpakalayo si Daniel and returned after he became rich. So balik ang affair nila Daniel and Andrea, nahuli sila, hanggang sa namatay si Andrea because of hemorrhage kasi nabuntis siya ni Daniel.

Why is it bad, let me count the ways:

1. It was bad at first because the development of the story was too fast the characters were not established yet, from childhood the scene shifted to adult agad. They didn’t take it slow then at the end it would end abruptly. After the transition from childhood to adulthood, kissing scene na. Whoa! Ganun kabilis. Tapos after a while love scene na! bilis ah.
2. Then yung sasakyan nila na old tamaraw yata na 19kopong kopong, buhay pa hanggang lumaki sila.
3. When Andrea woke up in the morning ayos na ayos ang hair niyang straight na kinulot. Eh bagong gising nga eh, nagpaparlor muna bago kumain to think nakagat siya ng aso.
4. Then when they were in the lighthouse, Daniel was marking the floor of the lighthouse, ang galing parang tuwing pupunta siya sa taas ng tower may dala siyang fresh cement para mag mark ng sticks.
8. Basta lang makagawa ng pelikula, gagawa. The story is good, love story eh, it was shown on Valentine’s Day. Ang ganda sana kahit simple lang, kaya lang…

Its not all bad, may good din naman:

1. I like the location shoot, the tower is a romantic place to kiss and make love siguro. I like the effect when they were kissing kasi minsan may ilaw minsan dim.
2. I like Richard’s acting and I like his character, sa kanya lang ako natuwa. Siya lang ang nakakatuwa. Ang guapo pala ni Richard!
3. The story reminds of the Korean movies and drama that I’ve watched. I think it’s good kahit na parang medyo adapted siya. Kahit na simple lang ang movie, kahit papaano may naantig naman na damdamin, konting kilig kung baga.
4. I like the song played when they were kissing “huwag kang bibitiw sabay nating haplusin ang langit”. I wonder kung sino ang kumanta nun?
5. Regine and Ogie’s version of “The Promise”.

Okey, kahit na papaano, natuwa ako, kinilig ng konti, naalala ang old days. Sarap maging-in-love. Parang kami ni Irwin dati. Ahehehe.
